How to Get Paint Out of Carpet

Paint spills can ruin your carpet if not treated quickly. The type of paint determines the cleaning method.

For Wet Paint

1. Blot the paint gently with a clean cloth. Do not rub.
2. Apply warm, soapy water to the area.
3. Blot until the paint is gone.

For Dried Paint

1. Scrape off as much paint as possible with a dull knife.
2. Apply a small amount of paint thinner or alcohol to a cloth. Test on a hidden spot first.
3. Blot the stain until the paint lifts.
4. Rinse the area with water and blot dry.
